Ransom B. Shelden House
Product Description High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Ransom B. Shelden House is a private house located at 1304 College Avenue in Houghton, Michigan. It is currently used at the Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) Fraternity House. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. In 1852, Ransom B. Shelden, Sr. arrived in Houghton, opening the first store in the area and platting the section that would become the village of Houghton in 1861.[2] Shelden began several copper mines in the area and, in 1865, established the First National Bank of Houghton.
